Sony released the PocketStation exclusively in Japan in 1999, despite being announced and marketed in North America and Europe. The Sony PocketStation was a memory card peripheral for the Sony PlayStation console categorised by Sony as a combination of a memory card and a miniature personal digital assistant. The device features a monochrome liquid crystal display (LCD), infrared communication capability, clock, built-in flash memory, and speaker. Games for the PocketStation were bundled as extras with many PlayStation games which could be installed via the memory card port on the console.
Even though the release of the Sony PocketStation never managed to materialise outside of Japan, the number and calibre of compatible games is highly impressive. Street Fighter, Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy all have instalments that can be played in conjunction with the PocketStation, making it so much more than just an ornament in a collection.
There were white and crystal, clear PocketStations released, both of which we aim to hold in stock either as single units or boxed units with accessories. As with all of our products, we aim to get you exactly what you want. If you are looking for something that you can't quite seem to be able to find, let us know. We will go away and try and get it for you and let you know as soon as possible if we can source it (we usually can in most cases) for you.
We put great emphasis on customer satisfaction here at RetroPlayers and wouldn't ship anything that we wouldn't keep for ourselves. That's why we put all products through our testing protocol to guarantee the quality of them and not leave you wondering why your new items don't work.
