Nintendo GameBoy Advance SP Consoles
The Nintendo GameBoy Advance SP was the first revision to the original GameBoy Advance. It brought with it some much welcomed enhancements including smaller, compact, clam shell design, backlight that could be switched on and off and an enclosed, rechargeable battery pack. Thanks to these nifty new touches, the GBA SP is a very collectable model, even further so due to its backward compatibility capability to play original GameBoy and GameBoy Color cartridges.
Released in early 2003, the GameBoy Advance SP was released with the exact same software library and hardware specifications as the first GBA. The standout difference was of course the flip style screen, offering a more sleek design and protection against dust and scratches. The console was received very warmly and shipped around 43.52 million units by mid 2009.
Nintendo released a great number of different casings and designs over the lifespan of the GBA SP including a vast array of colours and special editions such as the famous tribal pattern commonly associated with the console. Here at RetroPlayers, we aim to stock a great range of these varieties but of course, if you can’t seem to find exactly what you’re after, please feel free to get in touch and we will do everything we can to source your desired item.
